Baton Rouge Author “Brittany Sanford” Tells Her Amazing Story Of Triumph Through Life’s Harsh Realities In Her Upcoming Book “Chosen Vessels”

Good Afternoon, iGodYou family.

I was given the amazing opportunity to interview what seems to me one of the most humble, powerful authors I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. After watching this young woman write down and make plain the vison God gave her. I am honored and humbled to be an avenue for her.

After prayer and brief conversation over Facebook messenger.. The conversation went

Tell me a little about yourself?

I am Brittany Sanford, I grew up in a single parent home a big family. 4 brothers and 3 sisters, and also step siblings. Being the middle child. I always had my mother and father just not always on the greatest of terms.

Knowing that everything works together, I could sense that there had to be what I would call a push. There were no authors in her home. After hearing this I was encouraged to ask deeper.

What encouraged you to write?

Growing up in what to me at the time was a struggle, I often wrote a lot of my thoughts and the things I felt that I wasn’t able to express. Being the middle child was difficult because I didn’t feel like I could express myself and be understood. I began writing poems about where I was in my mind, feelings of not having the things I saw others with. “I would compare but at the same time not compare”. From there I began to write for others. As a child I encouraged and motivated myself to write almost everyday.

After hearing that, all I could think was “this sounds a lot like purpose”. Being a writer myself I know that writing can be a form of therapy but there still takes an extreme amount of faith (mustard seed) type a faith. Which seems to be little to man but is a lot to God. What happened? Which led to my next question.

What transpired that made you want to write a body of work?

My mom passed away when I was eleven. Dad passed at fourteen and my brother was killed when I was sixteen. Being that I always loved to write and seeing that God was still there for me. I was encouraged to write what is

“Basically my testimony of how God brought me out and what God did for me in the midst of all that I went through, whether I felt like I deserved to be in those places that I was in back then. Just with going through those experiences, I was like I need to share this with somebody”.

So now I’m feeling some type of way. I’m encouraged, intrigued and in expectation of what comes next. With all that, you managed to write that book. This has to be the most strongest individual I’ve met so far. Which led me to believe that this book had to have served as some type of outlet. I’ve learned recently how doing what God says to do allows God the freedom to do something in you. So I asked.

In what way did writing this book help you?

“It Healed Me! Spiritually”

She said this with such enthusiasm and assurance.

If you can summarize this book in few words how would you describe it?

“PREPARED” God breaking me down and building me back up. I believe this book will touch a lot of saved and unsaved people. It’s going to deliver and cause a lot of people to do self evaluations.

By this time I’m taken back and now I’m just at awe of Gods handy work. I will say this I was truly blessed, encouraged and mind blown by this interview. This young woman of God has an amazing testimony that can reach beyond boundaries and touch people at the core of their hearts. Reaching them in whatever place they are in. I personally encourage you to get this book and to be encouraged by this young woman’s story.

Who I Am “ The Voice” ( Part 2)

Good Morning Family, Warning Transparent Post!
I pray all is well.
So hear this, the oddest thing happened to me this morning.
I woke up! Odd? No; Ok
Honestly I woke up with the dire need to worship and to be in Gods presence. Remember as I spoke on the last post this purpose and calling comes with a cost. In this case it cost me some sleep and a little aggravation. I was a little troubled the night before because fear begin to set in. Natural  instincts when fear comes
But this fear took me straight to the father. Which it should do to all those who believe. Knowing that if he says to do it it can be done. Spiritually, when fear sets in God is planning something!! Which means it’s gonna take your faith. Feeling inadequate and not sure of the future of what God was calling me to.
I had just became comfortable and used to the way things were going and was beginning to adjust. We all have been here and the truth is faith is the answer to that fear. I prayed with an urgency and long based on my feelings and what God is asking of me. So what had happened was.
I was met by a voice a familiar voice that spoke in Truth and love and authority. Coming straight from the word of God. See I was expecting to hear God speak audibly. This time it was a voice but it was a leading. The word of God Christ made flesh. I was reminded of the text from the previous blog post John 10.
““Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.””
John 10:1-5 NIV
it’s important that we understand this one thing. Christ as our Shepherd. In the context of this text we see he speaks of that authority of being the gate and the gate keeper. There is only one way to the father into the fold of God. (John 14:6). If you red the previous post this we spoke briefly about. Look closer and you see him reveal “Who We Are” his “Sheep”.
He then explains how his sheep are only receptive of his voice and in fact “know” his voice. It’s imperative that we gain a sensitivity to God’s voice as his sheep. With all the voices in the world only one gives salvation. Only one voice brings us into grace, p ace and life. If you know who you are as his sheep you should recognize his voice. Although this passage speaks spiritually about  salvation. Let’s try some life application. This same voice is what we need to venture through  life’s test, trials but what I’ve come to realize as of late. This same voice is what will lead me into the next season the next endeavor, next business venture and or ministry.  So as his sheep what is that voice saying.
And if it’s saying do it. Just do it!
If fear is saying I can’t or what if and how long. Pray and allow that voice. The voice of the “Shepherd” the word of God speak to who you are as his “Sheep” lead you. You don’t have to fear “Death” “Sins of The Past Present and Future” the Shepherd has victory over all of it,
I’ll leave you with a very popular scripture as encouragement.
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
Psalm 23:1-6 NIV

Who I Am

Good Afternoon family. I apologize for not having a super long greeting today. But I do greet you with love, on behalf of Christ first, IGodYou and the Rapture Ready Productions family.

I’m pretty sure some of you have heard or have even seen the amazing things going on around those who I am honored to work with as well as myself. What a blessing right! I know it is. All our praying, hard work, diligence, character, work ethic. Yea! It was bound to happen! Some would say it is a prophecy fulfilled, Which is also true and a really good observations…But!!

If you know me you know 80% of the time there will be a (BUT)!!

I want you to take a look from a different perspective. With all the Glory, (which is not ours) hard work and results there is a still, quiet, existence behind it all that reaches out from the depths of all the noise and says! I AM!!! If you don’t look closely you can miss it. If you don’t look with truth and understanding you will do just that. I’ve come to understand that’s you can scream it loudly over every song, every video and every blog post some will still miss it.

What I’m saying is there takes a huge amount of authority to walk in purpose and to speak in the manner in which you see us and any other in ministry. Oh and it comes with a cost.

Why is this? You ask. Well let’s look at some scripture

“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.””

John 10:17-18 NIV

What does that have to do with me or ministry or “Who I Am” for that matter

Well number one, we don’t often acknowledge how extremely important it is to know who we are and whose we are in our purpose when it comes to our callings and our overall walk with Christ. In the scripture Above, hear Jesus speaks on his authority based on the fathers love for him because of the sacrifice he would make.

Pay attention Jesus explains his work, the authority in which he walks in and even why he walks in it. Because God Conmanded!! He spoke in this authority to the religious leaders who could not understand where Jesus was coming from, simply because they denied who he was. Which kept them blind from receiving the truth.

What is possibly keeping you blind what haven’t you accepted about Christ, yourself and the purpose he has for you and only you.

Your walking in purpose is great but there are things you must take into account. Authority is given first by God, which means it’s not your own and that’s why it takes an extreme amount to walk in it. With that comes identity and clarity, in which is given and worked through you by the spirit. Also the cost which is indeed sacrifice, of time and other things. With this comes responsibility, and attack’s. Rejection and being miss understood.

Jesus spoke of an authority as our Shepherd “The Good Shepherd” (John 10:1-18) The One who never leaves his sheep and his sheep only hearing his voice which is the beautiful protection we have in Christ. He ends it by saying who gives him this same authority, God.

Again he speaks of an authority outside of himself even though he had his own. He gave it up, humbled himself. We must be that way as well giving of ourselves and finding our identity and authority in Christ just as he did in the father. This will keeps us aligned doing the work and will of the Christ.

Holy Vibes

Beautiful Blog.. The transparency and wisdom

I believe that the Spirit of God lives in me… If I think something that is against Him then there is a battle within me. That is why we have watch and pray in order not to enter into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak (Matthew 26:41).

If I go with what my flesh desires, I might find some happiness in the moment. However, when I please my flesh it’s only temporary. The pleasure wears off and I am left feeling empty and dry. What brings me abundant joy and happiness is knowing that I am pleasing to God. My ultimate desire and longing is to live by the Spirit. That what I am thinking, saying and doing is like perfume to the feet of my King. The word of God also makes it clear that without holiness no one shall see God (Hebrews 12:14).

Purpose Fueled( Why You So Gassed Up)

Good Morning iGodYou Family..

Happy Good Friday

So I’ve recently had another vulnerable yet heart checking moment which encourages me to write. Which made me ask the question to myself

“why you so gassed up and for what reason?”

Lately there has been a fire a stirring up on the inside of me, as we churchy folks would like to call it.

I would call it a pushing!!

I feel as if it’s been a reminder or a certain “umph” from the Holy Spirit. Encouraging me, and supplying waves of Grace that flow and keep me afloat. Now let’s be honest the Christian walk is not an easy one and those who are serious about there relationship with Christ knows this, we also know it’s not as hard as some may make it seem either. It’s the war against our flesh and our spirit man that antagonizes us throughout our process. Not to mention the naysayers and their opinions but we all know that comes with the territory.

To be totally transparent I have been holding this one in. Not sure if I should post it. Feeling a little unworthy due to the the rapid pace that my life is going. In the amount of time I have to slow down the Holy Sprit has been giving me the word Purpose.. The feeling of there is still more. Although I have been making new moves, new relationships as well as new progress. When things get quiet and I’m not so busy my thoughts can revert and my attention begins to focus on what’s around me and I happened to one day look and see how busy I have been but still wondered “Am I Getting Anywhere”.

Yes I did..

I’m sure we all have been here and please be real with yourself if you said you haven’t before. No judgement here. What really struck me about that question to myself was this fact. I believe in my heart I know in what direction, I know the end game, the initial purpose. The problem is I don’t necessarily see the fruit yet.

And that’s when it hit me. With all the knowledge all the wisdom and power from the Holy Spirit. I still have no control over time. I know you’re like well duh Keion.. but listen. I’ve learned the sovereignty of God. What I just learned was that his sovereignty is the driving force behind my purpose!! The thing is me focusing on what’s around can become and issue it can literally divert me. Don’t get me wrong, we are all entitled to stop take a breath of fresh air and take in the view. It is very important to our growth. Once you’ve allowed yourself time to take in the level you’re on. Learn from the level you’re on. Inhale. Exhale and then begin to take the necessary steps in order to pursue the next level in purpose. Your next step may be to stop and wait or it can be to step out on faith. At the end of the day it all takes faith that is fueled by the sovereignty of God fueling (YOU) to your purpose.

So to be brief, today is Good Friday. One of the more important days in our belief system. Today was claimed to be the day our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. On this day he fulfilled one of the important steps towards the purpose of Redemption. His initial purpose, the very reason he was sent. How amazing is that. Through the life of Christ we see the sovereignty of God in him fulfilling his purpose. He humbled himself and endured as a man so at the end of the day he sacrificed and heeded to the initial plan and purpose. To die so that he can redeem man in his resurrection. Christ loved, formed beautiful relationships and friendships. Was antagonized but at the end of it all he fulfilled his purpose. On purpose.

So my message to you and myself is this. Yes you’ve been working hard and you may see little progress yet you are progressing. If you believe that you are in Gods Will for your life then you are in purpose on purpose. If he is the fuel. Remember God is sovereign most importantly over you which makes him sovereign over the purpose in which you are here. Let nothing stop you or hinder you from it. If it wasn’t for Christ dying today a major step in his purpose we wouldn’t be saved today. Fulfill your purpose no matter what. You could be saving those after you. Let your purpose be in nothing and no one except God, let him be the driving force and if he is. Then he will also be the fuel.

I’ll leave you with this scripture in mind

“The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.”

Jeremiah 1:4-7 NIV

Above you see God revealing to Jeremiah who he was and his purpose. Just think if Jeremiah said no and never went. Yes he questioned his purpose and even said no but God’s sovereignty sustained him and equipped him. So he went.

There Is A Refreshing Rain Cloud Brewing In Hawaii That You Know Nothing About. Yet!!

I know you are wondering what has gotten into this guy. With all the winter storms and crazy weather that’s been going on in the U.S. I know he’s a multi talented person and all but a weather man? that’s a bit too much.

Well that’s exactly the point. Hate to burst your bubble but of course I’m not a weather man. Yet there is always room for a prediction right, well In this case a testimonial. I’m sure lately you’ve seen the slight wave of music. Well, That’s not what I’m blogging about today either. I’m blogging about your down time. Yes down time. What do you when you’re all burned out from a long day of hard work, ministry or whatever it is you do on the daily. Amongst coming home to family or friends. What do you do to unwind to refresh. Of course we read the word of God to revitalize our spirit man but what I’m asking about today is your physical man.

So what does this have to do with a rain cloud in Hawaii you ask? Well

For the last two weeks I have had the privilege to try out a few bath and body products by the name of R.A.W. And I know what you’re thinking.

Yes!! Men can enjoy bath and body products as well.. So put your gender specifics down!

So of course, me being a man I’m not used to the whole system. Yes I like to smell good and feel good and stay clean. Of course. But to actually enjoy these processes are different. Of course an occasional massage and or a day to just rest. These are most definitely needed in my busy life, but an at home SPA?? Never really experienced it. Never been to a spa nor have I seen it in a box,

Amazingly the R.A.W. perfume products that I had the privilege of trying were exactly that. A full fledged SPA in a box. The smell ripped right through every seam, every corner and every crack in the box before I could even open it. From the bath bombs to the bath butters even the bath fizzers. Everything handmade to perfection. The Refreshing feel that I was given each time I tried a product gave me feelings of comfort, peace and not to mention a smell that can only be bottled up somewhere close to Heaven. From the way my skin felt to the way I slept, even down to the lighting of the candle that filled my room with this Refreshing Spirit and Fragrance. I was truly amazed and refreshed. You have to try this product.

This product is handmade In Hawaii. The Owner Ceandrys Black a powerful woman had this to say about her name and product.

“R.A.W. Truly is about releasing authenticity. Our slogan is Live Authentically!!! Be who you are called to be and embrace everything about you.”

“Our products are made with love and authentically created”

⁃ Ceandrys Black ( Founder & Owner Of R.A.W & R.A.W. Perfume)

Below are my remarks from two of myfavorite products from the box. Also links to get further information about Ceandrys Black, R.A.W. And R.A.W Perfumes.

Ben4Gvns Transparency On “In All Your Ways” Speaks Volumes To The Body Of Christ As A Whole As Well As Our Personal Relationship With Christ

The album opens up with a beautiful track exemplifying the uncertainty that begins as a result of a spirit led walk. The guidance and direction needed. The eye opening and heart checking track “Wide Open” brings everything full front as it peaks into the heart of the believer. “Going through the motions” giving us a perspective on the struggle to maintain focus and purpose in this walk. “Gotta Be Enough” speaking on marriages hardships “

“I Admit It” telling us about the struggles believers face everyday inwardly and the honesty and grace needed to make it through. Including a host of tracks that will pull you into a relationship outside of the religious setting. “In All Your Ways” is heart wrenching, thought provoking and heart convicting. The album is a perfectly constructed narrative on the Christian walk and growth in and outside of the church.

I encourage all believers and non believers to go buy this album. It’s hosted on Apple Music as well as Spotify. Go get your copy today.
