Good Afternoon, iGodYou family.
I was given the amazing opportunity to interview what seems to me one of the most humble, powerful authors I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. After watching this young woman write down and make plain the vison God gave her. I am honored and humbled to be an avenue for her.
After prayer and brief conversation over Facebook messenger.. The conversation went
Tell me a little about yourself?
I am Brittany Sanford, I grew up in a single parent home a big family. 4 brothers and 3 sisters, and also step siblings. Being the middle child. I always had my mother and father just not always on the greatest of terms.
Knowing that everything works together, I could sense that there had to be what I would call a push. There were no authors in her home. After hearing this I was encouraged to ask deeper.
What encouraged you to write?
Growing up in what to me at the time was a struggle, I often wrote a lot of my thoughts and the things I felt that I wasn’t able to express. Being the middle child was difficult because I didn’t feel like I could express myself and be understood. I began writing poems about where I was in my mind, feelings of not having the things I saw others with. “I would compare but at the same time not compare”. From there I began to write for others. As a child I encouraged and motivated myself to write almost everyday.
After hearing that, all I could think was “this sounds a lot like purpose”. Being a writer myself I know that writing can be a form of therapy but there still takes an extreme amount of faith (mustard seed) type a faith. Which seems to be little to man but is a lot to God. What happened? Which led to my next question.
What transpired that made you want to write a body of work?
My mom passed away when I was eleven. Dad passed at fourteen and my brother was killed when I was sixteen. Being that I always loved to write and seeing that God was still there for me. I was encouraged to write what is
“Basically my testimony of how God brought me out and what God did for me in the midst of all that I went through, whether I felt like I deserved to be in those places that I was in back then. Just with going through those experiences, I was like I need to share this with somebody”.
So now I’m feeling some type of way. I’m encouraged, intrigued and in expectation of what comes next. With all that, you managed to write that book. This has to be the most strongest individual I’ve met so far. Which led me to believe that this book had to have served as some type of outlet. I’ve learned recently how doing what God says to do allows God the freedom to do something in you. So I asked.
In what way did writing this book help you?
“It Healed Me! Spiritually”
She said this with such enthusiasm and assurance.
If you can summarize this book in few words how would you describe it?
“PREPARED” God breaking me down and building me back up. I believe this book will touch a lot of saved and unsaved people. It’s going to deliver and cause a lot of people to do self evaluations.
By this time I’m taken back and now I’m just at awe of Gods handy work. I will say this I was truly blessed, encouraged and mind blown by this interview. This young woman of God has an amazing testimony that can reach beyond boundaries and touch people at the core of their hearts. Reaching them in whatever place they are in. I personally encourage you to get this book and to be encouraged by this young woman’s story.
